THE 4th RUNNER UP
MISS GRAND INTERNATIONAL 2024
Talita Hartmann
My name is Maria Felix, and I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. I enjoyed a wonderful childhood characterized by my determination and intelligence, which helped me stand out academically from a young age. At the age of three, I began my journey as a ballet and contemporary dancer, and I also embarked on my career as a theater actress, performing in some of the most prestigious theaters in my country. I was a busy child, supported by amazing parents who instilled in me strong values and a passion for life, shaping me into the woman I am today.
However, at the age of fifteen, my life took a significant turn when my parents divorced. My mother made the decision to take my younger brother and me to the United States in search of better opportunities. This transition was challenging, yet I am grateful for the change it brought. I completed my education and began my modeling career in New York, eventually becoming a finance specialist in this vibrant city.
Last year, I had the honor of being appointed as Miss Grand Dominican Republic, an opportunity I had long sought and which came at the perfect time. In preparation for the Miss Grand International competition, I returned to the Dominican Republic for three months to work on expanding the MGI brand in my home country. As a dedicated titleholder, I focused on performing exceptionally well at the competition. I understand firsthand that dreams require hard work, effort, and sacrifices; however, the satisfaction of achieving something you’ve always desired is far greater than any accolade.
Today, I reflect on my incredible experience with Miss Grand International, where I placed as the 5th runner-up, and spending an additional month in Thailand was truly a dream come true. I am forever grateful to MGI and Miss Grand Dominican Republic for this tremendous opportunity!
