Emely Carmelina Aleman
INTRODUCTION
My name is Emely Carmelina Aleman Fonseca. I am 27 years old. I am the youngest of five children and was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. At the age of 14, my family moved to the USA in pursuit of the American dream. I now hold dual citizenship in both Honduras and the USA. I graduated from the University of Tennessee with two bachelor’s degrees in Business Analytics and Supply Chain Management. I currently reside in the USA, where I have my businesses. I also model and do commercial acting while working as a college mentor and philanthropist on the side.
My main business is a home care agency where I work in collaboration with clinics, hospitals, hospices, government entities, and geriatric professionals to help older and disabled adults stay independent and safe at home. My business is therefore my advocacy. Furthermore, I am passionate about helping children. I have a program called “Estrellita y Cometa.” Through this program, I use part of my business profits to provide school supplies to children in Honduras and use the platform to spread motivational messages, which is another reason that led me to pageantry.
Stop the War and Violence
It means advocating for peace by creating awareness and calling people to action in an attempt to create change. As an entrepreneur who runs a business with a purpose, I hope to have the opportunity to become the next Miss Grand International and continue impacting my community.
Through my home care agency and program, I have had the opportunity to change many people’s lives. My work directly impacts an elderly person’s and disabled adults’ ability to remain healthy and safe at home. So, I hope to not only further advocate for this service and need, but also serve as an example of how we can contribute to improving our surroundings, all in an attempt to advocate for peace and a better world.
The 4Bs
I am forever grateful that God has gifted me with the “Brain”—intelligence and wisdom. Through observation and “trial and error,” I have been able to grow and create my own opportunities.
I lost my father in my late teens, and my mother fought endlessly to provide for her five children while pursuing the American dream. Their resilience encouraged me to work hard and become financially independent at the age of 17. I wanted to be financially independent to ease my parents’ financial burden. Though my parents had businesses, we were blessed but not rich. My parents believed that as long as we had enough to live, our riches would come from giving back. So, they inspired me to become a woman whose “Business” comes with a purpose: caring for others.
I was blessed enough to have the “Body” and be physically and mentally capable of making a living by helping people maintain their independence and have a dignified end of life. And that is the real “Beauty” to me—having a natural, altruistic desire to use your own skills and abilities to make an impact.
PASSION TO BEAUTY PAGEANT
My Passion for Beauty Pageants
I began competing in pageants last year. Becoming a beauty queen was just a matter of time because I always knew I would represent Honduras on an international stage. At first, it was merely a desire because I didn’t know it was possible. Soon after, I learned that there is nothing impossible when you have a determined heart. Though MGI wasn’t always the dream, in 2023, it became the goal when I discovered it. I admire the brand’s ability to innovate and inspire. In such a short time, it became one of the most anticipated pageants—not just because of its glamour, but because of the way it makes others feel. That is exactly what I aspire to be if I have the opportunity to become the next Miss Grand International. I want to use the platform to do good, to learn, to grow, and to inspire others to be their most authentic selves.
From a young age, I knew I wanted to represent Honduras after watching pageants on TV with my family. It was just a matter of when and where. I always believed I was meant to do something big and meaningful, so when I found out about Miss Grand International, I knew I had to be there. Miss Grand International is not just entertainment; it is about personal and professional growth, as well as social impact and the way it makes others feel. I knew I wanted to be Grand the moment I found out that, to be Grand, you had to be 1,000% authentically and unapologetically yourself.
